Last autumn Maksym was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The boy has undergone necessary surgeries and therapies in his native Kharkiv, and now he arrived in Kyiv for high-dose chemotherapy. However, he cannot start it because of the lack of drugs. The drug Methotrexate has been put into the public procurement but, unfortunately, it is currently unavailable at the department because of supplies disruptions. Maksym needs four cycles and the price of one is almost 3 500 UAH. The father is the only breadwinner in the family but his salary doesn’t cover all the medicines for his son’s treatment.
We appeal to all not indifferent people with a request to help our Help Center for disadvantaged children to make cosmetic repairs in children's rooms. For 11 years now we have been helping those from whom the parents refused, who simply do not need their mothers and fathers, who were taken away from their parents-alcoholics and drug addicts. Our goal is to give them shelter, a quiet, calm, cozy home, where the child will recover from the experience of grief and trauma.
Roma was born prematurely, in the sixth month of her mother's pregnancy, weighing some 1,300 grams. The twin brother could not be saved, Roma survived, but the lamp in the resuscitation cuvette, where the baby lay for several months, burned his eyes and he lost his sight forever. Roma does not know that she lives in the world of people who see people: mom did not dare to tell him about this, but he did not ask, he lags behind in development.
Slavik has been hospitalized at the Cancer Institute for two years already. His mom tells us that when a boy walks through the corridors of the department, he looks at the photos of children who have won against a terrible disease and constantly asks: "When will my photo be here?". Through tears, his mom promises that soon his picture will be on the wall with the inscription "The Winner". But treatment, unfortunately, continues. The tumor cannot be surgically removed but the chemotherapy drug Avastin turned out to be effective. The problem is that the family does not have money for the next cycle. The price of one vial is almost 8000 UAH and he needs a few of such vials.
This is Mykola. And he is still in intensive care... You, our dear donors, have repeatedly helped him with medications, MRI and rehabilitation courses. Now the boy is so weak that he cannot even eat it himself. His mom takes him on her hands and again asks to help his son.
Friends! We start fundraising fund for children of the "City of Happy Children" Center. This Center became the home for children who were not given the happiness to live with their mother and father. Each child has experienced a tragedy, but they have seen the full unsanitary conditions, alcohol, and drug dependent parents, adult psychiatric problem, violence, malnutrition and even starvation. In winter we need medicines for disease prevention, strengthen the immune system activation process to lay the groundwork for reducing the number of relapses of chronic diseases.
Yaroslav likes Lego construction toys and complicated puzzles so much. It saved the boy during treatment when he was literally hooked up to IVs. His present life is also like a difficult task: the treatment of the serious disease is completed but its outcome is not exactly known. In order to find out if the scheme of treatment was successful if the disease disappeared, it is necessary to undergo an examination in Italy. And the family has no more funds to pay for it.
Every day of the life of fifteen-year-old Vlad was full of new experiences and opportunities. Until recently, this cheerful boy playing football with friends, riding a motorcycle and living the normal teenage life. And now he is surrounded by the walls of the hospital chamber and an incredible amount of medicaments.
