Aliona was born prematurely and couldn’t breathe on her own. Seven days on medical ventilator, brain hemorrhage, pneumonia, sepsis – and this is just a part of everything Aliona has had to endure since the first days of her life. But the doctors did not give up, and now the girl is at the Institute of Neurosurgery waiting for a surgery which should be the final stage of treatment. But the single mom has no way of providing everything she needs for her baby.

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common diseases in the world. The disease often leads to disability and death. Kristina Tkhelidze has been fighting this ailment since the age of 15. Now 26, her condition has deteriorated because the disease has taken on a serious form. The young woman was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with Phlegmon of the right foot. In addition, a blood clot was discovered that is at risk of breaking free, she also has kidney problems as a result of diabetes.
Masha Vilesova is a little over five years old. She is a welcome and only child. "I have been waiting for her for a long time,– writes Tatyana, Masha’s mother. –The pregnancy went well, I gave birth to her at 37 years old". When her daughter turned 4 months old, her mother began to notice some oddities in her behavior: Masha’s eyes somehow "ran around". This alerted the mother and she with her daughter went to the doctor. Doctors did not say anything concrete, attributed everything to the age of the child, that she is small. And the diagnosis was made at the age of 3 years. Masha has a congenital bilateral subluxation of the lens of both eyes. It became clear that the girl needed surgery on both eyes.
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.
In the framework of the project in the direction of Cardiology in September,20 2019, the Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital was received assistance. At home, she had a parrot that became her true friend. But in June Ksenia’s life changed dramatically: leg pain, examinations, CANCER. Now the girl watches the birds from the hospital window and draws her beloved parrot with pencils. Meanwhile, the doctors are trying to save her leg.
Vania has been keen on playing computer games for a long time. Virtual games help the boy to distract from painful procedures that he has to go through every day to defeat the disease. Last year, Ivan’s life changed abruptly when he received a dreadful cancer diagnosis from the doctors as a sentence. The boy had to leave his classmates, his studies, his younger siblings and to start not a virtual fight for life. If a hero has more than one life in the digital world, in the real world it is more difficult – it’s now or never.
5-year-old Ivan from a small village in Odesa region likes to play with little cars and wants to drive a big tractor. But now the main goal of his life is to get well. For the second year in a row, Ivan has been receiving treatment for neuroblastoma. During this time, the boy went through many chemotherapy cycles, a surgery to remove the tumor and an autotransplantation of stem cells. Now Ivan is receiving supportive therapy and is awaiting the necessary examination to make sure that there are no cancer cells left behind.
What did you like the most in your childhood? Warm and comfortable embrace of parents, their kind and gentle hands, right? Our little Preemies, nursed in the department of care of prematurely born children of Berdiansk Territorial Medical, are in need of this warmth. First weeks of their lives are a test of strength. Testing with the light, loud sounds, cold and the absence of mother's hands.
Dear donors, уou have already helped a little Vitia Porokhovyi, a boy with special needs; for his short life he has already undergone ten operations on bypassing the brain, inflammation of the ventricle, meningitis, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral edema, he was in the intensive care unit at the ventilator during the month. Almost from birth, he was diagnosed with encephalopathy and later – with internal hydrocephaly.
In July, Vova Tabunshchyk turned 10 years old. He is an active and curious boy, loves to run and jump. And he fell ill, like all onco-children, unexpectedly. "In the fall of 2017, my son’s shoulders started to hurt a lot, of course, we decided that the backpack was heavy and we began to put less books in school", says Vova’s mother. "But that did not solve the problem, the pain continued".
