What does it mean for you to be happy? I recently asked myself this question and realized that I am happy when I help people. Their reaction and emotions are precious. I believe that everyone can help. Often, we have stereotypes about how we can help and we have excuses like we do not have enough money or time, and it stops us. But to help is so easy!
Marta Rybak is an interpreter, musician, and student of KNU. "I personally know brilliant people who go through rehabilitation at Dzherelo Centre. I dream that their light will always shine brightly. You and I can help them with this!". Children with special conditions of development have the same rights and needs as other schoolchildren. They aspire to have friends and communicate, have the right to study, and to develop and enjoy their childhood. Unfortunately, due to such physical barriers such as distance and inaccessible public transportation, the vast majority of such children have to stay home, although there are only several kilometers between them and friends.
I travel often and never cease to admire the beauty of the world. And I would like children with disabilities to have the opportunity to see and feel all this beauty. But our society, especially public transport, is not adapted for unusual people. Our small contribution to the Dzherelo project helps children and young people with disabilities come closer to their dream – to be part of society, realize their talents, and gain new knowledge.
I am happy to spend time with kind and sincere people, to be able to travel and work in any part of the world, to do my favorite things. And I consider it a big injustice that young people and children with disabilities nowadays are losing their freedom of movement due to unsuitable transport or bad weather.
"I don't like to live in a world where right deeds are so rare that they start to count as good," Lewis Carroll said.
My name is Olena and I love to sing, I play bandura and I speak Slovak a little. I think that stereotypes are evil, and Lviv is the best city on Earth! I am very close to this Mr. Carroll’s quote and I try to follow it. With this project, I very much want to help the wonderful center of inclusivity in my home Lviv – the Dzherelo Children’s Rehabilitation Centre.
