According to statistics, in Ukraine each year almost 5k children require such operation. It has also been proved that a timely operation helps to save a child's life and it is successful in 99%. Occupational infants in about 90% of cases have a completely healthy heart and can lead a fulfilling life: to do sports, create and do favorite occupations.

In order for children to survive the first 24 hours of their life at birth with a diagnosis of an open arterial duct, Alprostan is used.
