Almost everyone knows what happens during quarantine in the field of education, because in every family there is a small preschooler, pupil or student, and in fact everyone in the family could watch how distance learning is organized. Some liked to study at home, some could afford another hobby and extra rest in addition to lessons. But there are children for whom quarantine turned out to be a real moral and physical test.

How is man different from other living things? Of course, the kindness she can show to her neighbor. The charity canteen, located in the premises of Caritas Kolomyia Foundation, started operating in the far 2001 and served 10 people in need. The equipment on which the food was cooked – an electric stove – was the humanitarian aid of colleagues from the Czech Republic. The fund's activities were expanding and the number of visitors to the charity dining room was growing.
The pandemic of the COVID-19 and quarantine has become a real challenge for many populations. This is especially a difficult test for socially vulnerable families. Today, large and single-parent families are experiencing a difficult situation; parents raising children with disabilities or with serious illnesses, low-income families and families who were forced to leave their homes in the occupied territories.
Children need not only care, but also in the daily care of the body. Especially when we are talking about seriously ill children and children with disabilities. In such situations, the diapers are essential for your child's comfort and ease everyday worries of parents. But, unfortunately, for many families, such at first glance, the little things – a luxury.
For more than five years, Caritas Kharkiv has been taking care of elderly people who have lost their homes, have no relatives and are bedridden. Our social assistance is aimed at supporting their health and life in new social housing or hostels. Many of them endured considerable stress during the fighting in the east of Ukraine and were forced to leave their past achievements and move to new places. Here they learned to re-equip their lives and live. T
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, social services have focused their attention and resources on helping older people at risk. Accordingly, scarce resources are not sufficient to help the low-income families who were always in need and are in a critical situation now. In the times of quarantine, their main concern is to make sure their children are not starving. Due to the loss of work and lack of savings, issues like this are most acute for single-parent families, low-income large families and families with disabled children.
The Community of the homeless needs your help in purchasing of food and disinfectants.
The youngest resident of the Community “Our House” is a few weeks old. Apart of him there are 3 more children and 40 adults in the Community. Over 10 years of its existence, the Community has learned how to maintain itself. But today the homeless had to close social shops with second-hand clothes and there are no more orders for furniture repairing. At one moment, they went back to the beginning of their existence and now turn to everyone with a request to help them to survive this crisis.
If you take you will fill your hand,if you give you will fill your heart! Good things are always actual. Our dear benefactors, helpers, supporters and caring people, we ask you for help for the unique Center for Mother and Child, which gave shelter to lonely-mothers refugees from Donbass, as well as women affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. Being alone with their problems, lost the house and any hope for the future, they found peace, care and comfort here.
Several years ago our organization founded shelter for the homeless with the aim to give the second chance for a better life for homeless people ready to fight for their lives. Also, every year we arrange common celebration of Christmas and Easter for the homeless and needy people of our town, to remind them about the better life they deserve. Lent has come — a time when believing Christians think about the importance of charity, love, and patience. Easter is traditionally celebrated in peace and harmony. It is very sad when these traditions are lost due to material problems.
A joyous Easter for the people of the "golden age". Please support the fundraising effort to purchase food products for the Easter basket for lonely elderly. Traditionally, the most important spring holiday in Ukraine is Easter. We look forward to celebrating this special day in the family circle, sharing the joy of the meeting and the taste of holiday meals with our loved ones. However, not everyone has the opportunity to celebrate Easter in a festive way. Older people who are in material distress and depressing loneliness cannot afford it.
