She loves her son to the moon and back. Now he is already 12 years old, and all these years his mother does everything within her power for her child who undergoes constant rehabilitations and treatment. Unfortunately, the boy can’t sit, eat by himself, talk and serve himself, so he needs constant care and guardianship.

Old retired parents carry Alisa in a wheelchair. Alisa is intelligent, intellectually developed, interested in everything and she loves to learn. One day, this family visited Dr. Bersenev’s Medical Centre. The girl has been getting treatment courses for many years. It helps to relieve her ailment.
The Vasylyuk family loves children very much, so all of its members were looking forward to the appearance of the fourth child. Nothing foreshadowed troubles - according to the results of ultrasonic diagnosis, the child was absolutely healthy. Truth was revealed at the birth itself. Vasya was born with a terrible diagnosis: Arnold Chiari Syndrome and complete absence of the cerebellum.
Doctors said that the chances of surviving are extremely small. But the family didn't give up and insisted on the operation.

Taking into account insufficient funding and hard financial situation, the Department of Neurosurgery of Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital badly needs assistance. Every year the Department of Neurosurgery treats 1,200-1,300 patients and administers pharmacotherapy and therapy of nervous system diseases including the brain, spinal marrow, and peripheral nervous system. Neurosurgeons perform about 600 operations annually. Regretfully, the funds allocated by the state do not allow of covering even the most necessary needs for health care of such number of patients.
